Genre Research
In this post I am going to undertake research into the genre of my chosen brief. The main reason for doing this is to highlight and analyse codes and conventions of a range of media texts in order to help me produce an effective media product of my own. The genre of the text as described in my chosen brief is narrative. My music video will be like a short story whilst flowing with the music and I'll be looking at the conventions of 3 media products that of the same genre. One music video that I watch with a similar genre to mine is Rapman’s Shiro’s story. In the video the instead of singing the actors/actresses talk to help emphasise the emotions the characters are trying to portray as well as help the viewer understand what is going on in the video. Also the person singing that song appears in some scenes but is visible by the views not the actors and actresses in the actual video.
